The website sends HTTPS download and upload requests to speed.cloudflare.com. Cloudflare receives information normally included with an internet request, such as your public IP address and request metadata, under its own privacy terms.
A device may be asleep, block probes, use a different subnet, be isolated by the Wi-Fi router, or not respond before the scan finishes. iOS local-network permission must be enabled. No mobile LAN scan can guarantee that every connected client will answer.
No. It measures HTTPS response time to a public service associated with a game or platform. A live match can use a different server, region, protocol, and route. Use the game’s own latency display for the closest match-specific result.
The app does not include advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or developer-operated analytics. It does not require an account. Network requests still disclose standard request information to Cloudflare, ipwho.is, Apple services, or a host you choose to test.
Yes. You can test either connection. On cellular, a speed test can use a meaningful amount of mobile data. Connection labels depend on what iOS makes available and may not identify every carrier technology precisely.
Different tools use different servers, payload sizes, connection counts, timing methods, and routes. Compare trends using the same tool, device, and location rather than expecting separate services to produce identical numbers.
